Housewives are very fond of kitchen utensils made of stainless steel. Pans are especially convenient – they are suitable for cooking a variety of dishes. Such dishes do not oxidize or become covered with rust even with the passage of time. They are unpretentious in care, but still there is one problem – if the food is burnt, it will be difficult to wash it off. Let’s consider how to clean a burnt stainless steel pan.

The most time-consuming task for any housewife is to clean dishes from burnt food on the bottom and walls (both inside and outside).

And not all methods are suitable for this. For example, cleaning with a metal brush can seriously damage the walls of a stainless steel pan and its appearance. Some products are able to clean the burned, but at the same time they will leave undesirable consequences in the form of separations and stains on the surface. It is important to use effective and proven methods. Some of these methods were described in the article, how to clean stainless steel cutlery .

Methods of removing pollution

The simplest and most straightforward way is to pour hot water on burnt stainless steel dishes and let them stand for several hours. Burnt food should move away from the walls. If it was not possible to completely remove the contamination, the procedure can be repeated.

This method is most suitable for cleaning the bottom inside the pan.

In a situation where the food is badly burnt, you will have to resort to more serious manipulations.

Soda

Fill a stainless steel pot with water and add 50 grams of soda for every liter of water. Bring to a boil, turn off and leave to cool completely. Then wash the pan with a thick sponge and dishwashing liquid.

Vinegar

Vinegar is an acid, so it perfectly copes with the dissolution of various types of pollution. You can simply clean the bottom of a stainless steel pan by pouring it with nine percent vinegar. We keep it like this for a couple of hours and drain it. Then wash as usual.

Table salt

To begin with, it is necessary to let the burnt pan soak in plain water (an hour and a half). Then drain the water and sprinkle a thick layer of food salt over the soot. Leave for three hours, wash off. Then wash in the usual way. In no case do not leave a salt solution – the walls of stainless steel dishes will get unwanted dilutions.

Removal of burnt food depending on its specificity

There are other methods for removing scorch marks from different foods. We don’t hear about them that often, but they have the right to exist.

For example, if food containing a large amount of sugar is burnt, it should be quickly cleaned after ten minutes of boiling water with the addition of vinegar. The same can be done with soda. Then wash with dishwashing detergent and wipe dry.

Milk burning is a common phenomenon in the kitchen. The problem place must be covered with activated carbon powder for half an hour. Then clean with a hard sponge with the addition of a small amount of soda.

You can remove soot from milk by pouring it with whey for a day. But this method is not popular among housewives due to the length of time.

Removing stains from the outside of the pan

If the burned surface is small, you can apply a cloth soaked in vinegar. Cover the top with a polyethylene film so that there are no fumes.

Boiling in a larger container with a soda solution (50 grams per one liter) is suitable for more abundant pollution. The burnt surface must be completely covered with water. After ten minutes of boiling, allow to cool in the same solution and wash as usual.
