PVC windows have become an integral part of our lives. They are easier to operate, have a presentable appearance, and do not need to be painted every year. But in order for plastic windows to retain their original appearance longer and please the eye with freshness and cleanliness, they need to be washed once every three months. Of course, the process of washing such windows is much simpler and easier than ordinary ones. But still, any housewife should know how to do it right and what products to use for the care of plastic windows.
For this, the hostess needs a list of tools to properly care for such windows, namely:
- brush with soft bristles;
- rag or sponge;
- wet wipes for plastic windows;
- detergent;
- machine oil;
- silicone grease for the seal.
Plastic windows retain heat well and protect against noise. Therefore, if you follow the outlined recommendations, then caring for them will not pose any particular difficulties. And such a window, in turn, will serve you well for a long time.
Detergents
The first and foremost task when washing PVC windows is the choice of detergent. Moreover, you can use both factory and home ones.
- Household chemicals. Such liquids are much more convenient and pleasant to use. They have a pleasant smell and remove dirt more easily. Those that include ammonia or ammonia are especially effective. Such tools as Mr. Muscle or Ajax. They do not leave divorces and cope with any pollution.
- Homemade solutions. If you don’t want to buy factory products, you can get by with home-tested recipes. For example, make a solution of vinegar and water in equal parts. Or, dilute 15 drops of ammonia in 500 ml of water. These tools are quite effective, and the ingredients can be found at home in every housewife.
Necessary inventory
Before starting the window cleaning procedure, prepare the necessary inventory, namely:
- Rag. You need several of them: one for the glasses, the other for the frames. The cloth should be made of soft fabric so that scratches do not form on the windows. A microfiber product is best suited, this material absorbs moisture well and does not leave stains on the glass.

- Special spatula. It easily removes excess liquid from the windows without leaving streaks. You can buy one at any hardware store. Any tool made of soft plastic is also suitable.
Window washing
Before starting the wet cleaning of the windows, you need to put the window sills in order. Remove excess. Very often, yellow spots appear on the windowsills, they can be destroyed with the help of hydrogen peroxide.
Next, you need to wash the eaves and frames from the outside, these are the most contaminated areas. You can deal with such pollution with the help of an ordinary soapy solution.
When all of the above is done, we move on to glasses. If they are very dirty, then before applying the detergent, they should be washed with running water and wiped dry. Next, we get rid of divorces with the help of detergents and a spatula. To do this, you need to pour your chosen liquid into a spray bottle and evenly apply it to the glass. Then clean with a spatula and wipe the glass with a dry microfiber cloth.

- To save the glass from all leaks – wash the windows in cloudy weather, so they are easier to see and remove.
- Do not use a detergent that contains an abrasive, it will scratch the surface of the glass.
