It happens that after the end of the machine wash, you find that your things have faded. Don’t panic! With the help of our advice, you will be able to return their underwear. Let’s figure out how to remove faded stains from white clothes in the most effective ways.
Why do things shed?
In fact, there are many reasons for this:
- Washing white clothes with colored clothes. Colored fabrics release dye into the water during washing, which then falls on white fabrics, turning them into multi-colored spots.
- Using a large amount of powder can lead to the appearance of gray and brown spots. This is explained by the fact that the powder could not completely dissolve in water, or the washing was carried out at a low temperature.
- The washing program was selected incorrectly. When the clothes are heavily soiled, the fast washing mode is not enough for complete cleaning. In the allotted time, the stains only manage to blur on the fabric. Faded marks appear due to poor-quality buttons, zippers or metal jewelry.
- White products that have a drawing or pattern shed heavily. Such things do not break at high temperatures and in intensive mode. Hand wash is better.

Any bleach will help remove faded spots:
- Underwear . Soak white clothes for half an hour to an hour according to the instructions, and there will be no trace of the painted mark. Minus: an unpleasant smell that remains on the clothes for a long time, and the deterioration of the quality of the fabric.
- Vanish bleach (take with the mark White, that is, for white things). To remove faded spots, use gel or powder diluted in water, apply to problem areas for a quarter of an hour and wash off.
- Oxygen bleach. The safest bleaching option for fabrics made of bithimia. First soak the faded clothes for half an hour to an hour, then wash with the addition of the same agent.
- There is a good tool for removing faded stains on white products – it is “Antilin”. Its main advantage is the elimination of foreign dyes from white items. Duration of action – half an hour.
It is necessary to take measures to eliminate the problem quickly, so that the dye does not have time to absorb into the material. If there is no special bleach at hand, then you can remove faded spots with improvised means:
- Take soda, starch, citric acid and laundry soap in equal proportions and dilute to a paste-like state with water. This slurry should be applied for 12 hours, and then the white clothes should be thoroughly rinsed.
- You can use hot water and ammonia (100 ml). The product should be soaked in this solution for about three hours. It will be possible to remove stains, but in the process of processing, be sure to open the windows and turn on the hood, the smell is not very pleasant.
- The following composition will be effective against faded spots: one spoon of hydrogen peroxide, a pinch of salt, two spoons of water are mixed and heated to 70 degrees. Unattractive areas are treated with the resulting mixture. After a few minutes, you can rinse in cold water.
- Take a bucket of heated water and pour into it 250 g of powder with several granules of potassium permanganate. Immerse faded white clothes in it for a couple of hours and cover with a lid. Then rinse.
- Use peroxide and powder by mixing them in a container with water. The clothes should be soaked for two hours. After that, you need to rinse thoroughly.
After trying any of the remedies at hand, rinse the clothes first and check whether you managed to remove faded stains. If not, repeat. Or use another method. In no case do not wash in hot water and do not dry white clothes until you have eliminated the problem. Otherwise, the dye will be absorbed into the fabric forever.

Tips for proper washing
Before you start washing, spend some time on following small rules – this will save you from the appearance of faded spots and separations on white clothes.
Rules:
- read the instructions on the product label;
- do not throw colored and white items into the machine at the same time;
- sort products by material composition;
- wash new clothes separately, as very often it releases the remains of “paint”;
- unpleasant moments can be avoided by pre-soaking the products in a saline solution for three hours. In this way, you will fix the paint.
Forewarned means armed! Based on the information above, you can now not worry about the condition and appearance of your favorite blouse or T-shirt. But, if, after all, something did not work out, there is always an opportunity, with the help of special dyes, to give your white things a new life!
