Walking through the coniferous forest is not only a fun pastime, but also a risk of soiling your clothes. It can be traces of grass, the smell of smoke or a stain of natural resin. There are several ways to remove the sticky substance.
Preliminary cleaning
First, mechanically clean the clothes. In order not to damage the fabric, it is better to use a wooden or plastic spatula. With its help, scrape off the viscous substance that has stuck to the fabric. It is better to refuse to use sharp objects, as they can damage the jeans.
Important ! Clean only at home using clean tools. Resin is a sticky substance, and other things, including dust and debris, will stick to it quickly. With such a schedule, it will be much more difficult to remove pollution.
Once the bulk of the dirt is removed, choose how you will clean the resin from the jeans.
Temperature influence
To get rid of the viscous substance, you can do without the use of aggressive chemical reagents. Using high or low temperatures will help, as in the case of cleaning from glue .
- Cold. At low temperatures, the resin freezes and becomes brittle. Pack the jeans in a plastic bag. Put the clothes in the freezer for at least 1.5 hours. To speed up the process from the wrong side of the jeans, you can add ice cubes, putting them in a separate bag. It is important not to wet the cloth. Take out the frozen object and hit the resin area well – it will crumble and shake off easily. You can use a brush to finally remove the hardened mass.
- Hot processing. With the help of the high-temperature method, you can quickly get rid of fresh resin stains. Place a piece of board wrapped in cloth or napkins under the inner lining. Use an iron, setting it to a medium temperature. Place napkins, toilet paper or a clean cloth on both sides of the contaminated area. Pat the area. In the process of ironing, the resin will begin to melt and transfer to the substrate. Change the napkin. Repeat until the stain is completely removed.
Using any of these methods, you can finally get rid of the sticky mark. However, there is a possibility that the tar will no longer be on the jeans, but a stain will remain on the contaminated area. It can be removed by washing it with soap, using improvised means or dissolving it with special preparations.
How to remove tar
The remaining traces of resin on jeans after mechanical cleaning can be washed in several ways:
- Household soap . Wet the resin area of the jeans with warm water, rub well with soap (you can use “Antipyatin”) and leave for 15-20 minutes. Over time, rinse, repeat the procedure if necessary. This option is suitable for fresh resin stains.
- Vegetable oil . Suitable for more thorough removal of dirt. Apply the oil to the tar stain and wait for 15-20 minutes. After that, apply a soapy solution to the surface and wipe the denim with a brush. Wash it off.
- Citric acid . To begin with, mix together citric acid and warm water in equal proportions. After that, apply the composition to the resin-contaminated areas. The acid softens the dried substance and facilitates its removal. To completely remove the tar, wash the items in the washing machine.
- Means for washing dishes . Household chemicals are suitable not only for removing fat. With the help of Fairy, Mama Lemon or Sorti, you can remove resin that got on clothes. Detergents include components that dissolve organic contaminants. Apply a few drops of the solution to the stain and leave the jeans in this state for 10-15 minutes. After that, it is enough to rinse things in water and wash them with washing powder.
Solvents
To remove strong pollution, the hostess has to use more aggressive substances. The most effective solvents include gasoline, turpentine, and acetone.
Importantly! Solvents can lighten jeans. Check their effect on an inconspicuous area.
The stain removal process can be divided into several stages:
- Dip a cotton swab in an organic solvent.
- Treat areas with resin stains.
- To finally remove the viscous substance, wash the clothes.
A mixture of turpentine, ammonia and starch
A magical mixture that will remove any stains, including tar on jeans.
- Prepare a solution of turpentine and ammonia. Mix both components in a 1:1 ratio.
- Add starch to the solution and mix the mass. The result should be a thick paste that can be applied to the stains.
- You will have to wait about an hour for the product to act on old pollution. After that, shake off the starch and wash the jeans.
