Clay Moment has long been a leader among adhesive formulations. It perfectly glues the surfaces of various materials, including your clothes when used carelessly. If you act quickly, then according to the manufacturer’s assurances, you can remove the stain with ordinary washing. But a washing machine and soap are not always at hand. For difficult cases, we will analyze how to remove the moment glue from clothes most effectively.
Moment products are represented by several types of glues. Each of them has its own characteristics of cleaning when it hits different surfaces, you can get acquainted with this information on the manufacturer’s website. The methods described in the article are suitable for all types, but are more designed for the most difficult option – Moment superglue. Contact glue, which is also actively used in everyday life, can be washed off with ordinary soap within a day after getting on clothes. If the time has passed, then use the methods below.

Special Anticlay
It is best to remove the moment glue using special means, in particular “Super Moment Antiglue”. There are products from other manufacturers, they can also be successful in removing the glue trace, but it is still better to use the original products of the same manufacturer whose glue you got dirty with. Anti-glue perfectly cleans surfaces from glue, felt-tip pen and ink. For this reason, it cannot be used on painted or varnished materials.
- Check the effect of anti-adhesive on an inconspicuous area of clothing. If the fabric has not changed color and texture, then you can continue.
- Place a cloth or paper napkin, folded several times, under the stain on the clothes. This is necessary so that the glue, which will dissolve in the process, does not spread and does not stick to something else, but is absorbed into this napkin.
- Apply enough cleaner to cover the entire glue spot.
- Cover the Anti-Glue with a napkin folded several times.
- The duration of action is at least 2-3 hours, and it is better to leave the product overnight.
- In the morning, all the glue will be absorbed into the napkin. It remains only to remove it and throw it away.
- If necessary, repeat the procedure of applying anti-adhesive.
- When the glue stain is finally cleaned, wash the contaminated area of clothing with soap.
As you can see, it is difficult to wash off the glue even with anti-glue, and it is desirable to apply it as soon as you have dripped the adhesive substance on your clothes. But what to do if there is no special tool at hand? The advice of housewives from improvised means can help, although you will have to work hard.
Freezing
If the glue is not absorbed into the fabric, you can clean the clothes with the help of freezing. The adhesive composition hardens when frozen and crumbles easily.
- Immediately after getting the moment on the fabric, put a napkin under it so that the clothes do not stick together.
- Fold the thing with the glue up and put it in the freezer for an hour or a half.
- Remove the clothing and tap the hardened adhesive layer with a hammer. It will crumble, it will be enough to shake the crumbs.
- Wipe off the remaining glue with a brush.
- The rest of the trace, which managed to soak into the fabric, can be washed off with any available means, from those described below.
This method will also help remove PVA construction glue from things .
Tools at hand
It is not possible to buy a special Anti-Glue – use improvised means that can be found in the first-aid kit, in the kitchen or in the garage.
Important ! Before using any product, especially solvents, be sure to test its effect on an inconspicuous area of clothing to avoid damaging the fabric.
- Gasoline . Use only cleaned, sold in hardware stores, for example, you can get one from a cigarette lighter refill. Helps to wash away fresh spots of glue of the moment. Wet a cloth napkin or a cotton pad, apply it to the adhesive mark, leave it for 5-10 minutes, then rub the stain. After this treatment, the glue will dissolve and be easily washed off with soapy water.
- White spirit, acetone or any other solvent . An aggressive cleaning method, so use it only after a mandatory check. Do not use on dyed and delicate clothes. Clean the stain in the same way as with gasoline – apply, hold, wipe, wash.
- Liquid for removing varnish without acetone . Not as effective a method as in the case of pure acetone, but it will also help wash away the glue, especially with less damage to the fabric. Moisten a cotton pad with the liquid, place a clean napkin on top of the stain, and underneath. Leave for half an hour. Wash with soap.
The three methods listed are quite effective in dealing with the moment’s glue, but they are aggressive and can damage clothes. For delicate fabrics, you can use safe cleaning methods, but keep in mind that they work only with fresh stains, and most likely the procedure will have to be repeated several times. Before starting to remove the stain, remove as much glue as you can from the clothes with the help of a knife and napkins.
- Vegetable oil . Thoroughly wet the mark from the glue with vegetable oil, after 5-10 minutes rub it with a hard sponge. Dishwashing gel will help wash away fat.
- Citric acid . Dissolve 20 grams of citric acid in a glass of water. Pour the solution into a suitable bowl and soak the contaminated area of clothing in it. Leave for 5-10 minutes. Rub with a stiff sponge, then wash with soap.
- Vinegar . Mix acetic acid with water 1 to 2. Soak the clothes for half an hour, then wash. You can not soak, but moisten a cotton pad with vinegar and put it on top of the glue for a moment, rub it after a couple of minutes, wet a clean cotton pad with a bite and apply it – repeat until the glue trace disappears.
- Nasathyr . Add 1-2 teaspoons of ammonia per liter of water. Soak the clothes in the prepared composition, after 20 minutes rub the traces of glue with a stiff brush, soak again for 10 minutes, then wash with soap.
- Body scrub . Suitable for hard fabrics. Apply the scrub to the clothes contaminated with glue, rub the stain well with a sponge. Repeat the process until the material clears.
Conclusion: if you don’t want to spoil your clothes and/or spend a lot of time on cleaning, then use a branded anti-adhesive.
