Every day, our skin comes into contact with a significant amount of household chemicals. Every day we come into contact with all kinds of cleaning gels, powders, aerosols, sprays for stain removal and degreasing. We don’t even think about how dangerous the chemicals in washing liquids and their breakdown products can be. Despite the aromatic perfume, additives, vitamin complexes indicated on the label, household chemicals hide an insidious danger to health. The danger lies in the surfactants (surfactants) contained in your favorite detergent. Let’s consider the dangers of synthetic detergents for humans.
How much we spend
According to statistics, we absorb more than one liter of detergent per year. We literally eat the South African food that comes into contact with the food on our plates, we drink it with our morning coffee in a freshly washed cup. These chemicals are extremely reluctant to be washed off the surface of the dishes, and, drying, form a protective film.

To completely wash off the remains of the washing gel, it is necessary to rinse the plate more than 20 times under running water. But even this does not guarantee complete cleanliness, small drops of a dangerous substance remain on the surface and after contact with food, enter the oral cavity.
Thus, surfactants gradually poison our body, accumulating. Symptoms of such poisoning are often manifested by allergies, and in advanced cases, malignant tumors may appear.
Risk groups
People who use a large number of popular detergents at home fall into the risk group of oncological diseases. This fact has not been fully proven by science, but the pattern is still traced by scientists. Formaldehyde, which is part of well-known synthetic cleaning liquids, contributes to the development of cancer. However, manufacturers often keep silent about the exact composition, not indicating the surfactant on the label.
The pleasant smell of the fragrance can also cause allergic reactions, and sometimes even lung diseases. You should not trust the care additives in the composition of the gel or powder for washing dishes, since in contact with the skin, the protective layer of the epidermis is destroyed, toxic compounds enter the blood and spread throughout the body. Anionic surfactants, for example, can cause serious kidney disease. Therefore, it is important not to forget about gloves to protect your hands while washing dishes.

It is also impossible to believe in the safety of children’s dishwashing detergents. Most often, their composition does not differ from ordinary ones, but in some percentages the content of harmful surfactants is still lower (less than 10%). It is worth paying attention to them, because even 5% surfactant content is enough to break down fats.
You can reduce the harm to the body by reducing the use of popular detergents, replacing them with soda or natural soap, and sometimes completely clean running water.
