If there is an allergy sufferer or a small child in the house, then the use of washing powders is not always appropriate. Modern developments have offered housewives a new solution – washing clothes without powder! For this, special washing balls are used, which either reduce the use of powder, or allow you to do without it completely.
What is it for? The fact is that most detergents contain phosphate compounds that can harm health. You can, of course, use special eco-products, products for allergy sufferers or powders for children’s things, but they cope less well with their task of “unlocking”. Especially difficult stains sometimes have to be washed by hand with household soap. Washing balls will help to improve the cleaning abilities of your powder or completely replace it.
Laundry balls can now be bought everywhere. They are of different types and allow solving different tasks. Among them, four main groups can be distinguished:
- balls with bubbles,
- magnetic balls,
- tourmaline balls,
- balls against reels.
Let’s consider each variety in more detail.
Plastic balls with bubbles
This laundry ball looks like a massage ball or a ball for playing with pets. They are of course similar, but not interchangeable, keep that in mind. Such washing balls are relatively inexpensive, they are often found in hardware stores, so finding them will not be a problem.
For washing, two balls are used, which are placed in the drum of the washing machine together with the laundry. Despite their simplicity, they solve several tasks at once. Washing balls provide an additional mechanical effect on things, thereby helping to improve the quality of washing. They are also used when cleaning down products , preventing the down from rolling. Another function is that when they get between the clothes, they lift them up, which improves air circulation. So things will dry faster.
If the pollution is not severe, then balls with bubbles are able to wash laundry without using powder.
Magnetic balls
Appearance: smooth small balls with a small hole. Inside, such a laundry ball is hollow and equipped with a metal magnetic core. Made of special rubber, natural components, they can be constantly in the washing machine, that is, it is not necessary to take them out. The term of service is unlimited.
6-12 balls may be needed for washing. The amount is determined by the amount of laundry. The principle of action is the same as that of balls with bubbles. However, due to the number and magnetic core, this type copes with its task more effectively. They not only wash clothes, but also soften the water. As a result, less detergents (powders, conditioners) are used, and the washing temperature can be reduced. As you can see, this saves money and energy resources.
Tourmaline balls
This innovation leads the list of laundry detergents without powder. They are embossed hollow balls with numerous perforations, inside which small ceramic balls are located, which are the main secret. The filler is white, red and gray in color. It is made of tourmaline and 80 other natural minerals. The composition of these granules allows you to achieve the effect of real dry cleaning, but without using chemicals directly. Water quality improves, pH rises, microbes are killed, water becomes more alkaline. Due to the release of negatively charged ions, the movement of water molecules increases, which ensures a deeper washing of the fabric.
For washing, it is enough to load the washing machine with laundry, put the required number of tourmaline balls and turn it on. It is not necessary to add any detergents. The only thing is, manufacturers do not recommend raising the washing temperature above 50 degrees.
Before use, tourmaline balls are “charged” under the sun’s rays. Be sure to dry after use.
Balls against rollers
These balls are designed for washing woolen products. They are made of polypropylene and their entire surface is covered with many small loops. These loops interact with the wool, comb it and prevent it from rolling into coils. They also collect small debris and wool fibers to reduce washing machine filter contamination.
They can also be used when you need to clean things from pet hair.
The use of special balls allows you to improve the quality of washing. In addition, they perfectly cope with their task, even when laundry without powder is required.
