If desired, linen can be washed in a machine, but only with the use of delicate modes at a temperature not higher than 40 degrees and with the weakest spin. In addition, it is important to ensure that the machine is only half loaded: this will allow you to wash and rinse linen items well, without leaving streaks and streaks on them.

It is better not to experiment with folk recipes, but in emergency cases, you can try to wash off the stain on the linen fabric using ammonia or oxalic acid. Be sure to dilute them in water (1 tablespoon of the selected product per glass of water), then apply lotions to the contaminated area with cotton pads. This is a universal option that is suitable for ink, fruit, food, fatty, etc. stains For some specific cases, you can use other improvised means:

Dry and iron

In order for linen clothes to retain their shape after washing, you need to dry them properly:

  • do not twist the thing too much – it will become too crumpled and pulled in an unnecessary direction;
  • after shaking thoroughly, the thing is straightened and hung in a well-ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight, which can damage the color;
  • it is necessary to dry the linen to a slightly damp state, so that the fabric does not dry out and does not become brittle.

Linen usually shrinks after washing. The basic rules for ironing linen will help to solve the problem:

  • the fabric should not be too dry before ironing (if this happens, spray it with water from a spray bottle);
  • the iron should be used with a humidifier (if there is none, gauze soaked in water and folded several times will help, through which the item is ironed with a well-heated iron and returns to its usual size);
  • Ironed items must be laid out on a flat surface for complete drying.

A little effort – and linen clothes will look great again, giving their owners beauty and comfort.
